In The Name of Allah The Most High,

Assalamualeykum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh,

As been written in our previous article Muslim Manga deviantart group will organize a contest called Muslim Unity Contest. All praise belongs to Allah it was well organized and winners had been annouced.


It is mentioned before that IslamunityDotNet will take part in this contest, all praise be to Allah SWT, to appreciate this contest and the contestants in it we had done some interviews with winners. We've selected the first and the second winner for this interview. Its part of gift for them as winners of the contest.

It has been informed earlier that we has chose two winners of this contest to be interviwed as this part of our work for Islamic unity, and it is also as part of our support for the contest and  the contestants. Here are the interview we've made right after the contest winners is annouced.


Interview Session With Heba
1-Please tell us more about yourself..?
With pleasure, My name is Hiba. I'm a 25 years old Iraqi woman.

2-Why did you enter this contest?
To show the world the importance of unity… And to win prizes of course ^^

3-What does unity means to you?
Brotherhood, friendship ..and supporting each other at the time of the needs regardless all differences.

4-Your unique drawing has taken the first place in this contest.Will you mind if we ask you to elaborate on whats the drawing is all about to you?

In Iraq where I live, many terrorist explosions happens every day. And many innocent victims got killed or injured due to them.

When such explosion happens, people from both doctrines rush to hospitals and health centers to donate their blood to their injured brothers and sisters regardless of their rites.

Those terrorists are trying to disunite the Islamic doctrines by hitting a Shiaa symbol once and a Sunni symbol second attempting to cause Sectarianism here. But thanks to God people are aware of those pathetic attempts and they stand against them as one united Ummah.


5-How do you think muslim can be under unity?

They'll be much stronger of course. They can focus on delivering their holy message to the world instead of focusing on the minor differences between Muslim rites.


6-And what do you know about the noble characteristic as thought by RasulAllah(sawaws)?

The ethics and manners of the prophet Muhammed (p.b.u.h.) are to be imitated by all Muslims. So that these characteristics will give the noble image of Islam as wanted by Allah. nd the question.Can you use different words for the same purpose?


7-Do you think it can be one of the sources for the muslim to unite?

Sure. All Muslims agree that prophet Muhammed (p.b.u.h.) is God's messenger and the best man ever was /is/ will be.


8-What is your hope for the future of the Ummah and also what is your hope for Muslim Manga held by SHSN?

As for the Ummah..I wish that the Islamic nation will be able to prove itself to the world and show that we are holding a message of 'peace' and 'love' , not 'war' as the western media is trying to say.

And for my lovely group Muslim-Manga , I hope that It'll grow bigger and bigger. And show that manga/anime is an art that can be used for the profit of Islam .


9-If you are allowed to have your own studios and team to create a series of manga for television program what kind of manga series would you want to have?At least tell us about the fantasy that you have for it.

I think that it either will be an action kind of manga with superheroes and stuff . (I like that kind of manga ) or it will be a shoujo manga about princes and princess.


10-Why you became a fan of manga art?And describe your art to us or the meaning of art to you.

I've always liked to watch cartoon and animes since I was a little child. In the animes that I like ,the world is a beautiful and peaceful place ,just the way I want it to be .

Art is my way to express my self..and sometimes it's my way to make my impossible dreams come true by drawing them.

11-And finally,let us know about your hope for the peace of this world and what your faith is telling to people all over the world about unity between them.

I wish that everybody will someday realizes the importance of peace . I dream of a world where we all can accept our differences and discuss them in open minds away from ignorance and fanaticism .



 

Interview With Lauren
1-Tell us about yourself,


I'm LK and I am a comic book artist hanging out in the big city.  My interests lie in art and theology.  I love learning about religions and see the vast differences and surprising similarities.


2-What have made you join this contest and muslim manga group itself.


I joined Muslim Manga because the admin saw one of my comics and thought I'd be a good fit for the group.  I have a comic called "Respect The Veil" (respecttheveil.blogspot.com) that covers multiple topics including funny questions muslimahs are asked, many religions, and women's struggles.  I began studying Islam two years ago, mainly the Shia school.  I have heard my share of Shia bashing and really wanted to take this opportunity to show that in the end its really just small differences between schools; all are Muslims, all believe in the one true God.  And I think that is exactly what this work shows.

3-It seems like u've won the second place coz of your unique drawing.Being non muslim shows that you have much knowledge on muslims when your drawing is presented in our eyes.This is interesting.Tell us in detail about your drawing and its meaning.


The drawing represents the idea that although there are two different schools of thought in the end they are the same religion.  Shias and Sunnis often treat each other with great disrespect.  Its rather appalling.  I've studied both schools, and there are a lot of differences, but in the end the pillars are same, God is the same, their love for their prophet is the same.  That is what I am trying to show in this drawing.  There are small differences, like Elle with her hands to her sides, but they are still saying the same prayers, still obeying the same laws.  I think people need to think more about their similarities rather than focusing so hard on their differences.

4-What is muslims and their religion in your eyes?


Muslims are faith filled people.  I find their faith to be full of beauty.  They are one of the many examples of good, God fearing people.

6-It is not complete if we did not ask you about the meaning of unity in your eyes since this contest is about unity.What is unity is your eyes?


Unity is finding a way to live in peace with one another, despite our differences.

7-How do you think people can achieve the unity between different faith beholders especially when there are troubles cause by some extremist within the group of faith beholders nowadays?


Read.  Read about other faiths, other cultures, other religions.  Learn about them, be among them, take time to know them.  That is how you can achieve unity.  Unity through understanding.

8-Base on your knowledge about muslims,perhaps you can give us some ideas on what have made the muslims to have fight between them?


Its mainly a large difference of opinion.  Everyone wants to be right, and they don't like to think that another opinion could also be right.  The conflict has been fueled by thousands of years of misinformation.  It all boils down to who succeeded the Prophet.  And who's rules came first.

9-Do you think its right for non-muslim to insult the muslim prophet?If it is not right,how do you think, you can educate such non-muslims to not insulting the prophet of muslims people.In other words,what is the best way to stop them from being unjust to the Prophet of Muslim that is Prophet Muhammad(sawaws).


First of all, its not right for anyone to insult anyone's prophet, I don't care what religion.  People need to take time to learn, you really can't stop them.  Just do your best to educate.  Even if you only teach a couple people the truth.  Still makes a difference.

10-Why you became a fan of manga art?And describe your art to us or the meaning of art to you.


I just naturally gravitate to manga art.  I think I like the lines and ink work.  Art is like breathing; I can't live without it.  Its the expression of my soul.

11-And finally,let us know about your hope for the peace of this world and what your faith is telling to people all over the world about unity between them.


I do hope that one day we could all unite under One God regardless of our religion.  That is what is important, faith in One God.


Finally, we hope that more unity contest could be made so that it will remove disunity among the muslims and make the muslims to understand how they need to unite for the sake of Allah SWT and His Rasul(sawaws) to demolish evilness and greater disaster that may fall on them.
